Chairman Rhinehart called the 2:25 public hearing to order at 2:30 p.m.
The Clerk read the notice of public hearing.
Holly Rosenthal, Executive Director, MWB, noted the following:
- Proposing a 7% or $.07 increase in the water rate
- This will generate $490,000 in revenues based on 7 billion gallons of sales.
- Direct expenditures are down in payroll and supplies. The increase is based on indirect expenditures and a reduction in water revenues.
- The decrease in water demand is based on water conservation, green initiatives, smaller households and climate changes.
- The increase will generate less than $4 in annual expense to an average customer
- The increase will allow for maintenance on the current drinking water system that is a valuable economic development asset
Chairman Rhinehart asked for any speakers wishing to be heard. There being no speakers, the public hearing was closed at 2:35 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
DEBORAH MATURO, Clerk
